
General information
Pula is the biggest and main Istrian city and is situated in southwest of Istria, it has around 90,000 inhabitants. Pula has an important role in Istrian economy since Roman empire since it was a famous transit harbour. Besides it all, the Pula is definitely most famous for its Roman amphitheater that is even today still actively used as a stage for all kind of different performances and koncerts. Pula has always been a special tourism spot in Istria and in Croatia as well, in the city and it sourrounding arrea you can find numerous hotels and private accommodation facilities, some of them just few meters from the beach.
Location
Pula is located in south part of the Istrian peninsula, 20 kilometers away from Porec, 150 kilometers away from Rijeka, and 350 kilometers away from Zagreb, capital of Croatia. Pula is also some 200 kilometers away from the Italian border.
Airports
Pula airport is situated 6 kilometers from the city centre. All of the major car rental agencies are situated at the airport.
Traffic
Traffic is very intensive in sommer months and it is hard to find a parking spot especially in the city core. Taxi ride costs around 1 Euro per kilometer.
