General information
Belgrade is a capital city of Serbia, it has close to 1,6 million inhabitants. It is a speed developing city, quickly catching up with the modern development and overall integration in the world touristic maps. Every year more and more mainly young people are rushing to witness this piece of art when it comes to entertainment, night life and great hospitality. Belgrade is also a Serbian centre of culture, economy and education. Rivers Sava and Danube float throught the city, Danube floats in the lenght of 60 kilometers throught Belgrade and there are 16 river islands in that area, and the best known of them are Ada Ciganlija, Veliko ratno ostrvo and Gročanska ada.
Location
Belgrade is located in the center of Serbia but in we can say in the middle of the region since it is equaly distanced from some of the bigger cities in the region: 400 km away from Budapest, 400 km from Zagreb, 730 km from Bucharest, 325 km from Sarajevo, 380 km from Sofia.
Airports
Belgrade „Nikola Tesla“ Airport is 30 Km away from the city centre. It can be reached by taxi or bus.
Traffic
Traffic is very intense in this rushing city, and it is advisable to use some of the alternative means of transportation like, bus, taxi or tram.
